The Property

The Roosevelt project is a 5 tower complex, a shared vision of real state and architecture that aims to improve the quality of urban living in Plainfield. This complex will provide approximately 1144 units, with a variety of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units just a 10 minute walk from the plainfield station.

Each Roosevelt tower is a 14 story high mixed-use building, the first two stories are a parking podium accessed from the street level on the train side while commercial is located on peatonal street next to the plaza. Upper floors holds multifamily housing, amenities and open recreational spaces for the residents.

The Design

For the design approach it gives particular attention from the sixth floor to fourteen floor where the stacked terraces create a diagonal stepping landscape of the facade. The stepping apartments are composed of glass panels and wood panels, in color it differentiates from above because of a higher use of wood panels instead of glass.

Another change in color differentiates the facades oriented to the plaza vs the facades oriented outside the lot. The stacked terraces or overlapping volumes inside the complex are composed of glass and wood panels to create contrast from the white grid exterior facade. The objective is to accentuate the balconies and terraces movement from the interior and in the exterior not disrupt so abbruptly the aesthetics of the neighboring buildings.

The building sets back from the first and second floor offering public open recreational spaces connected to the main plaza. The stackering and setbacks from the third to the sixth floor gives open recreational space for the residents. Roosevelt complex gives the opportunity where working, living and entertainment are mixed, suburban living with urban density.
